About the event
Often Year 6 children who are capable mathematicians miss out on going deeper. Because they can quickly find the answer, going deeper often seems pointless and therefore picking up concrete resources even more so.
This workshop will help teachers to be clear about what reasoning and mathematical thinking looks like, and (more importantly) sounds like every day but with a full focus on using concrete resources to get there.
Delegates will learn how they can effortlessly go deeper with their more able build into the school day meaningful experiences to build flexible mathematicians in their class. Come and discover what really works.
